Welcome to Mersin University International Students Office (ISO). Our office provides administrative and academic assistance to prospective and continuing international students coming from different countries.

     For us, international students are of significant value to academic life at universities as they create a multiculturally diverse campus which is highly important in this globalized and technologically advancing world of the 21st century. Fostering a culturally rich campus life helps all students have first-hand experience of living, studying, conversing and cooperating in a multicultural setting. Such an authentic setting also contributes to students’ learning about the world they live in and to develop understanding, respect and tolerance towards differences. Thus, they gain the ability to work together in culturally diverse academic settings and workplaces. In addition, especially in academic settings, cultural diversity can contribute to fostering productivity in learning environments as different cultures and backgrounds bring different perspectives to the field. Hence, students can come up with different ideas and solutions to the problems at hand, and such an academic environment foster learning from each other in a creative and lively academic atmosphere along with an understanding of different perspectives.
